Hi and welcome to my Chestertown Chiropractic website! I’m Dr. Richard W. Loyst, D.C., C.C.S.P., practicing chiropractor of 38 years. After my undergraduate education at U.C. Berkeley as a neurobiology major, I attended Palmer Chiropractic College in Iowa and graduated summa cum laude in 1979. After taking and passing the California and Colorado state boards I was fortunate to start my career in a large 7 doctor practice in Danville, California. After the experience gained from that group practice I decided in 1982 to open my own practice in Oakhurst California, very close to Yosemite National Park. For 20 years I was able to help thousands of patients with their spinal and musculoskeletal problems and also pursue my other passion, hiking, literally minutes from my back door.
In 2002 I relocated to upstate New York to be close to family and relatives. I decided on Queensbury and the southern Adirondacks due to the quality of schools, change of seasons, and opportunities for outdoor recreational activities – such as hiking, fishing, and skiing. In 2006 I took over Chestertown Chiropractic from another doctor who was changing careers and in short time, this became my primary practice. I still maintain a satellite office in Glens Falls to take care of patients I’ve treated there for years.
